floral design that matters

Hi, we're Emily and Mara. 

 We were introduced [when still!] in our  twenties at a mom-and-pop flower shop, each seeking a way out of our more corporate situation, and in the pursuit of one that felt more value-aligned.  While we were honing our craft for floral design--and realizing how well-suited for it we were--we were becoming close friends.  It was uncanny how parallel so many aspects of our lives had been, and felt like reconnecting with a long lost twin with an eight-inch height difference: a kindred spirit, if you will.  Over enough time, shared laughter and tears, we grew to feel like an extension of one another, and were eventually treated as such.  

The sense of belonging we found in one other extended to a whole community of like-minded women alongside whom we grew, all happy to have a reason to be connected.  It was a powerful thing to witness: how the right recipe of know-how, passion, and good-humor could create something so meaningful to so many people.  With that, we gained the confidence to create our own reason, with and for our own people. 

And so became Flower Folk. 

At its core, it's a reason and a way to stay connected;

to the things we love doing, and the people we love doing them with.
